The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit

Eternally existing in a relationship of love.

The nature of God is trinitarian, meaning that God exists as Father, Son and Holy Spirit. These are not just different manifestations of God, all three exist simultaneously. It is difficult for humans to grasp. But think of it this way: Our universe exists in space, matter and time. They cannot be separated from each other, yet they are different. Furthermore, space consists of three dimensions: hight, breadth and depth. Also, we experience time as past, present and future, where present is continually flowing into past and future is flowing into present, and those cannot be separated, either. Even matter comes in three forms: solid, liquid and gas.

If God is three persons, it is not surprising that he created a trinitarian type of world.

And a notice: we use masculine pronouns for God, because the sacred texts use them. This does not mean that God is a male. God is above gender. He created mankind in his own image: man and woman. Both are image bearers of God.

The reason I use masculine pronouns of God is because I do not regard it as a problem. Masculine pronouns are not the problem. Rather, pride in the human heart is the problem.

Because God exists in three persons he is a relational God. Love requires relationships, for you cannot love alone. God has always existed in three persons. This makes LOVE eternal. But what is love?
